I have some REALLY old PCs I've been asked to "get working" personally I'm ready to use them as ugly beige bookends!

Dell GX110 (old beige ones) Circa 1999!
32Mb RAM (100Mhz!!!)
Processor out of a TV Remote
2Gb HDDs

I've put a clean install of Windows 95 on it (tried 98 but it was toooooo slow for words). IE5, AV software and ONE printer. they're still painfully slow but I can't really cut it down anymore than this.

Any tips for speeding them up a tad? Other than dropping them out of the 2nd floor window or tying them to the bumper of a car? Unfortunately my hands are tied in terms of spending cash on them for upgrades. 1. They're not worth it and 2. i'd rather spend it on new equipment!

I also can't have them with no AV software installed and unfortunately the council standard is MacAfee (4.5.1 I've stuck on them since it's fairly bloatfree).

*sobs*

Edit: cue music or queue music? <sigh>

Wouldn't be allowed to :( stupid centrally control system only allowed me to purchase new computers, certain manufacturers and more or less "standard" specs.

Council gets screwed out of money left right and centre because of it of course!
