Coming back from uni today along the M602 towards J12, the ring road at approaching rush hour.

As im about a mile and a half from the ring road traffic starts to queue in the first lane waiting to turn onto the M60 going either north or southbound (usually north).

Now am i just rude, but theres no way in hell im sitting for an extra 15-20 mins in almost stationary traffic if i stopped and joined the queue where it starts!

Every week i drive almost right to the front and merge in there as the lanes are wide enough to squeeze in as people are shuffling forwards.... Do the people who queue from the back just have more patience or time? Im intrigued as to why more people dont do it!

never usually sit in the queue unless I'm really not in a hurry.

I either go nearer the end and nip in a gap, 99% of the time there always is. The 1% of the time there isn't I just go to the next junction as it's about 500m away :)

What I desteste and really wish peopel wouldn't do is stop/brake very harshly IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE MOTORWAY, and sit there stationary with their indicator on. This winds me up something chronic.

Its not merge in turn, but this is what i do, because usually when im about to "jump the queue" the single lane splits into two, and some of the cars are using the left hand lane, to head southbound on the ring road, and i want to be in the right hand lane to go northbound. So far every time i have done this, ive found a gap, dont always drive right to the front, im just not sitting in loads of queued traffic if i dont have to.

In an ideal world yup everyone would queue and the motorway would flow perfectly well, but thats not the case!
