Hiya.

I've heard that some people have had problems with the 8800 cards because they are too large to fit in certain cases (for instance problems with the Sonata II and IIIs).

Am I right in saying that the 8600GTSs are smaller? I've looked all over, even on the manufacturers page, for the dimensions of a card I just bought, but can't find them

here's the one i bought:

Just want to check it will fit in a Sonata III before I buy it!

That card is tiny compared to a 8800, look at the distance from the end of the card to the start of the PCI-E socket connectors.

8800 (although this is a GTX and slightly longer than a GTS I think):

GTX is the longest card at about 10-10.5 inches, the 8800 GTS's are the same length as x1800/x1900's etc... at about 9-9.5 inches, the 8600's are about the same length as the 7600 GT's by the looks if it, around 7-7.5 inches, but they definately not as long as the 8800 GTS so will fit fine. :)

an 8800GTS should fit in a Sonata II case no problem at all as I had an x1800xt in there when I had the case and they are both about the same length.

Mines is squeezed into a centuriun 351 or something like that from cooler master, not the largest case by any stretch of the imagination
