Which would be a better encoder/all rounder - 4200+ @ 2.8Ghz or E6300 at stock, theres no hope for overclocking as the memory is hopeless as is the board (Asrock conore xfire). I'm thinking A64? Ta ;)

All rounder but moreso endcoding a few dvds a week as well. Yep no chance, the RAM is some value crucial 5300 that starts flaking out at 350Mhz or so and the board itself maxes out at 300fsb, it can run 300 but every now and then it reverts to stock as it can't start at 300 sometimes for god knows what reason even though when it does it can run 3d and orthos for weeks if wanted , this holds true for any setting apart from 266Mhz! also any setting over 300fsb won't boot :D i'm giving a mate a choice of either one for as long as he wants it (hard times, lost his job and trying to set up a little garage musician/studio biz).
