Quick advice needed re: Kave + Xonar

I am trying to get an order in before xmas cutoff and am in need of new headphones. I heard you need a soundcard for the Kaves otherwise you get annoying static - is that true and how bad is it? I don't know what else to buy except the Kave but if you know of some that are better for less money please let me know.

Used mine with onboard for couple weeks and it was great, switched to a sound card not so long ago and its even better.
Either way you wont be disappointed

using kaves a few years now...only noticed static (once)..with an old second hand sound card, think there was something wrong with it.... up until that i never heard anything... been using on-board sound for awhile, with nothing...and now iv got myself creative Z card and sound is perfect.... cant really compare with anything else....these are all i own now and over the years any other headset iv had broke with in days/weeks/months....

so they are a decent bet tbh...for what they are!!!

I use mine with my onboard, absolutely no problems at all so far.
