Quick advice needed - tyres (no longer needed!)

Hi all,

Just a quick one. After a set of front tyres for a Saab 9-3, 205/50 R16. Looking at Goodyear Eagle F1's at the moment, can order them in for £161 from camskill and my local place would supply and fit them for £195 but would need an answer by 2.30 if I want them fitted tomorrow(after I get somewhere to fit them, there's not going to be much difference in price, surely?).

Any equivalent tyres I should ask about? Nearly £200 for a pair seems quite steep as I had 205/45 R16's (I think) for £160 fitted on the 25.

Any advice would be appreciated.

205/50/16 is a pain of a size, I had it on my Mondeo and it was about 90 quid fitted for F1 GS-D3's.

It always strikes me how much certain sizes cost. You'd have thought a fairly common reps car like a Mondeo (no offence) would have pretty cheap tyres due to how many they must make in that size.

Maybe they assume most F1 customers would have lower profile tyres?

And thanks Saytan, I'll look at those when changing the rears, still plenty of tread left on those though.
