Hi all

I have just installed windows on my new ssd and i have now re-installed afterburner im using version 2.1. I have saved my stock 5850 settings 725/1000 in slot one, the core downclocks to 400mhz when idle where as the memory stays at 1000mhz. I have now created an overclock of 810/1100 and saved it on slot 2, the thing is with this profile selcted and when idle the core downclocks to 157mhz and the memory 300mhz.

Any idea why the OC profile seems to be downclocking? i thought the idea of it was not to downclock as it does affect me in games with some annoying stuttering

Hope someone can shed some light on this as i had the same setup on my old HD and had no issues at all

thanks again

Liam

The downclocking while idle should be automated based on if a program is running something requiring hardware acceleration or not, as far as I've understood?

Core drops to about half-clocks when I do something with Flash or an HD video on Youtube, memory stays on full clocks.

Only when having nothing open on desktop or watching pure text sites, does the clocks stay on the "full idle" mode.

Don't know if this helps, but maybe you had something running in the background? Dunno :)
