Hi,

Looking at motherboards at the minute and need to ask a quick question.

If a mobo description states:

Storage Ports Configuration 1 x ATA, 4 x SATA

Does that mean it only has one IDE connection for use with hard drives and the DVD drive or is it just referring to hard drives?

told you it was silly :D

thanks

If the Motherboard has only one ATA port you will be able to connect a maximum of TWO old parallel ATA devices to it.
Both of these devices will be on the same cable connected to this single port.

So, if you intend to connect an old HD and CD drive to this new board you can do that.
That will then be the max number of old ATA devices you can connect.
