Hi :)

I am deciding what case to get the wife for her new build and have decided mainly on this Antec 300.

Now the left hand side of the case will be around a foot away from a radiator. Not a problem as the radiator is hardly ever on, but do the side panels swap over with ease as the panel with the 120mm grill is to the left and I want it to the right behind the motherboard tray?

Thanks guys :)

Antec 300 it is then.

Its just so that any heat from the radiator when switched on will not be sucked into the left side of the case. I may then use an exhaust fan to draw any heat from the back of the motherboard when the panels are switched over.

A naked case??:eek::p

Looks just the job. You're 260 looks like it just fit in. Would it be a tight fit for the 6pin PCIe as a 4850 is going in it and the 6pin is at the back of the card and not the side like you're 260?

How many case fans did you get with it? I have read up I will need another for the front.

I take it that an additional fan for the front bottom is a no no if I am putting the drives there?

A 4850/4870 will fit just fine as they are a tad shorter than the 260. Might want to avoid putting a drive directly next to it though.

Comes with 1x12cm and 1x14cm Antec 3 speed fan at the back. There is room for 2 extra 12cm fans at the front and one at the side if you wish. Would definitely advise getting at least 1 extra for the front to improve the airflow significantly.

If you fit the hard drives the "right" way round, you can fit a 12cm fan in there as well which will help to keep the drives cool. Does mean that the power and SATA cables are more visible though so it's down to personal preference.

Excellent. Thanks for the heads up :)

The case is for the missus so as long as there is decent cable management then having the drives pointed the other way around is no problem.

I will get another 2x120mm fans for the front. Glad there is ample room for the 4850 and she will only have 2 sata drives so looks like I better get the card out and start ordering.

It's a Hyper 580W Modular PSU. They do seem to have a bit of a reputation but they look superb and all the cables are mesh-sleeved so no fiddly mods required.

lol...Thankfully mine has grown up and won't be pushing anything through the grill. Kids huh? :)

Looks like there is not much difference with panels swapped over so all good. The case will have an E5200 (slightly overclocked) 4Gb Ram, 4850, 2xSata Drives and a Corsair 450W. All ready for the missus to play her Sims 3.
