Ok so I used al my new toys so a little update mainly for liverpool lad as I know he was considering the 3M stuff.
OK firstly the Perfect-It III. I used this after washing my car on Friday night. I was recommended by Johnny to go over my whole car with this stuff first. I would describe it as a suped up T-Cut. There were some scratches that T-cut improved but didn't get rid of completely, this stuff either improved them further or got rid completely. I would highly recommend this if you need a T-Cut type compound but it doesn't get rid of swirl marks- read bellow.
So Saturday morning comes and its time for stage 2 the Imperial Hand Glaze. I made an early start but the sun ws already blazing- way too hot for polishing but seeing how rare it is I get the chance I went ahead anyway. Looked at my car and thought 'what the **** have I done' my car was covered in very visable swirl marks. Thinking lets make the best of a bad job I started with the hand glaze doing 1/2 a panel at a time because of the heat. Luckily the swirl marks put in by the Perfect-It all dissapeared. The finish was really rather good. Liverpool Lad if your trying to shift swirl marks this might be the stuff to go for but I've never used scratch X etc so can't compare.
Heres my tip of the day DON'T USE THIS IN DIRECT SUN LIGHT LIKE I DID!! By the time I had got round to the front of the car it was red hot and it welds to the paint in seconds. Trying to cut corners I did the whole of the bonnet in one go. Despite all my scrubbing to get it off there are patches tha are still on there now

Next time I wash it I'll have to re-polish and re-wax this but I guess thats what happens on the hottest day of the year!
Finally the wax itself, maybe I was expecting too much but I was slightly dissapointed after all the paint prep etc to finish up with my car looking exactly the same as if I had just washed it and layered on another coat of spray on wax which would have taken minutes instead of hours. Maybe time will tell and im sure it does offer better protection but I was left a bit underwhelmed with the finished result.
