Quick bit of advice needed

my friend gets 50mbps on her laptop wireless when next to her router but when shes upstairs it goes to 1mbps over wireless theres around 3 walls in between her and the router when upstairs what can be done to sort this?

Run Ethernet cable from the router to the upstairs and connect that to a network switch. Then connect the laptop to the switch plus if you also want the option of a wireless connection upstairs also connect a Wireless Access Point to the switch.

Try changing the wireless channel. Download something like inssider or WiFi analyzer on Android

Rather, connect it to a wireless repeater.
