Quick bit of help with a dock

Have iPhone 3G, Universal dock and dock for iPhone 3G on my desk so just tried it.

Universal dock:
- Plug iPhone and it immediately says "This accessory is not designed to work with iPhone". It suggests to turn Airplane mode to prevent interference.
- However, iPhone is visible and operational via iTunes if in Universal dock.
- Remote works, but very very laggy.
- Video output via dock S-Video doesn't work.
- You will need Apple Universal Dock iPhone 3G adapter.
- While in dock Home button on the phone is not easily accessible. It is sunk half way through in the dock.
- Phone speakers output muffled through the Universal dock.

Apple dock for iPhone 3G:
- No mentioned above problems, but...
- No remote.
- No video output.
- Only holds iPhone 3G.
