Quick bluetooth mouse question please

Hi all,

I just got a MS 8000 bluetooth mouse after my Razer copperhead died on me. The mouse is nice with no probs so far, apart from there are 2 entries of the mouse in device manager. My brother likes it too and has ordered one. Will the 2 mice interfear with each other as the PCs are in the same house?

They should be paired with the bluetooth adapter they are installed on, so no, i doubt it.

I had trouble getting my crippled MS bluetooth adapter to do much else than run my keyboard and mouse, although I did manage to use it to Activesync my PDA over bluetooth.

I switched to a Belkin bluetooth dongle for a time, but found that it often "lost" the keyboard and/or mouse during boot up, so I'd be sat at the login screen and not able to input a password, whereas at least the MS dongle never did that.

I ended up with both bluetooth dongles, the MS one for keyboard and mouse, and the belkin for my headset, phone etc. The lived quite happily together.

Having said all that, I've gone back to an RF wireless MS keyboard and mouse combo fora couple of reasons. I have 3 O/S installed and the bluetooth keyboard doesn't become active until the OS boots, so no good for swapping between the two, and modifying the Boot.ini or using VistaBootPro was a chore.

And the MS VISTA driver insists on a passkey for the keyboard so you can't set it up to work in Vista AND XP without repairing it every time you change OS.

Picked up the MS Wireless 5000 desktop bundle for just shy of 30 quid this weekend.
