Based on the CustomPC/bit-tech Gaming Workhorse build.

Am I missing anything?
Will everything work together?
Any improvements while staying in the same price range?

heard so so things about the case, have you had a look at something like the BitFenix Shinobi Gaming case or the antec 300.

cooler wise have a look at the Gelid Tranquillo.

motherboard wise have a look at the z68's like the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3.

whats the total budget for the build ?

As close to £1k as possible, it's running to just under £1200 atm. I'm prepared to spend a bit more but it needs to be justified.

As a bit of history I seem to build a new PC every 5 years, during the intervening years I tend to do a few small upgrades but nothing too expensive. Last build was circa 2006 and cost £1500ish, Asus mobo, Athlon X2 4400+, 2Gig, 2x X1900s in CrossFire. I upgraded the RAM and the graphics card since the original build but that's all.

Really this new build is for Skyrim and BF3. I play a bit of WoW too but the current rig handles that fine.

Cheers for the suggestions I'll take a look at them :)

look at swapping the western 2tb for the samsung f4.

maybe worth looking at the Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 80 plus bronze psu, unless the 80 plus gold is the interest in the be quiet one.

other thing, based on you building a system to last, the new ati cards are due out shortly iirc, so not sure if that would be of interest.

With the TOXIC, you may be able to flash the 6950 to 6970 instantly with the duel bios switch on the card... It's not guaranteed, but most people seem to be able to do this?
Also with free shipping this works out at £1024.25 ?

ak!ta it's better to say unlock to rather than flash to as you're not flashing anything, all you're doing is flicking the switch as the modified bios already comes pre-flashed(so no risk of any bricking). I would normally link the hardop review but when I looked last night was getting the article not found error(for any review I tried on their site).
