I received a new CPU today along with motherboard and RAM.

I cant afford a new case for another month so will be fitting it all into my old case as I am too impatient :(

My question is, shall I just wait untill I have a new case or is it really not that much of a faff to transplant the board into a new case when I have one.

I am using the stock AMD cooler, would it be safe to remove the board with this on it or would I be best to remove it? Am worried about it being too heavy on the board?

I just cant be ***** to have to reseat the heatsink/fan :( Yes, I know im lazy.

Thanks all.

A lot of people seem to fit the cpu/heatsink/memory before installing the board as it's easier.

It also gives you chance to check that it actually works before installing the board. If there is a problem you're better RMAing now than in a month or so when you've got the new case.

That is good thinking. I didnt think about it like that :(

Just annoying putting it all in a case then 4 weeks later ripping it all out.. oh well, will be fun.

Will be worth the wait having a nice case.
