Quick C2D Q: Multi Unlocked?

E8400 / E8500 - can you change their multi (I assume higher is defo locked, but can you lower the multi to allow for a higher FSB)?

Also, when overclocking, is the cpu speed the main thing, or is a high ram speed also important?

The multis on those chips is unlocked downwards, so yes, you can reduce them for a higher FSB. The Extreme Edition chips let you increase and decrease the multi, but those are a waste of cash

CPU speed is the main thing, but fast RAM is good also.
