Quick car question

I have a vauxhall astra 1.8 2008 year
and the passenger wing mirror just the glass bit fell out when i opened the door, the glass is fine it didnt smash but how do i put back in? because nothing has snapped so i dont think any sort of clip held it in place so i was thinking is it some type of glue i have to use? i didnt wanna just glue it incase thats wrong so if anyone knows that would be awesome cheers
 
Not 100% on the astra but I replaced a mates wing mirror on his golf a few years back. We bought a replacement from Halfords with the adhesive already attached to the back of it.
 
It should have some sort of backing plate attached to it - if so just press it back on. If it's missing (i.e still on the mirror assembly) you'll just need to bond it back on
 
Yeahh it has a black plastic bit still inside the wing mirror that the glass sits in, when i put it back in just falls out, So ill need to get some sort of adhesive then right
