Quick check before i commit to buying.
Need to know if these are all compatible. I dont need an OS or PSU

Any recommendations for improvements without too much cost are welcome.

Mind me asking what the powersupply is that you have?
I don't think you should get that 1070, go for one with a proper cooler.
H170 board doesn't allow overclocking so not well suited to go with a K SKU processor. Either upgrade to Z170 or down the cpu to a 6500.
RAM is fine
Case is not a great one but if you like it then thats fine.
cooler is ok.
M.2 ssd is a waste of money on your budget. You won't see any benefit for gaming so its very expensive for what you get. Stick with Samsung 750 series SSD for good price and performance.

Sorry if that comes across bullish. Just trying to be clear and to-the-point and not waste anybodies time :p

I like straight to the point :D

My PSU is a EVGA 650GQ.

The lowest price GTX1070 is a boost above the RX480 i was going to get.
No plans on overclocking at all.
Case was a downgrade to afford the GPU.
The SSD looked amazing fast and I got hooked on the speed idea. Guess I could go for a cheaper SATA SSD on use the cash to upgrade the GPU?

Just popped by to say thanks for your help. I went with some of the recommendations and bought the list below. Looks like I bought it at the right time too as the price has increased from when I paid £879.

I mostly happy with it. Its whisper quiet and pretty quick. Hammers any game ive put on ultra settings so far but It freezes in games sometimes. Just downloading Gears of War that comes with the GPU and hopefully get to play that later tonight.

Ive also had it freeze while converting a time lapse video. Not sure if its a memory or GPU glitch?

Love the case although it looks bare inside, almost crying out for a liquid cooling setup. Was surprised theres nowhere to install my DVD in the case, i never realized that most cases dont have room for 1 til after I bought this.

I think im gonna get an ultra wide monitor at the end of the month. Nothing too expensive. Just seems a waste to have a GPU like this and running a basic 24" 1080p monitor.

EDIT* Another thing I dislike ...... the GPU is too heavy and sags at the rear. This must be putting stress on the PCB tracks .... anyone else have the same issue or found something useful to prop it up?
