Hi guys, looking for some final advice please.

So i have one of the MD's who have swapped his BB for a iPhone. But obviously no contacts as of yet.

I am on the understanding if i turn off the active Sync on the blackberry and connect the iPhone to his laptop it will sync with all his contacts on his outlook?

I dont want to lose his contacts, i quite like this job.

Anyone done this before? thanks.

I guess since your using BES you have Exchange too. So yeah just point the iPhone to the Exchange web mail (OWA). It will ask what you want to sync. You can't exactly lose his contacts in the process.

If in doubt backup his contacts from his Outlook to PST.

Have you thought how you are going to get the iphone to connect to your exchange server when he is away from your network?

Backup his blackberry including all his sim contacts using the blackberry desktop software.

Copy all his sim contacts to his blackberry and this in theory should reconcile them to his outlook contacts. Active sync will only sync outlook contacts, but blackberry will not necessarily reconcile (sync) all his contacts on his bb to his outlook contacts.

But if he is using the same sim card. Then you should in theory be able to just move the sim to the iphone with the sim contacts on it and then active sync his outlook contacts to his iphone which will then have his sim contacts + outlook contacts combined.
