so might need a new psu for my mums pc,
i5 @ 4.5, 8gb ram, 2 sata hd, 1 ssd, r9 380

current earthworks 430 antec actually runs that but now has coil whine from the gfx card, so to fix that im thinking evga g2/p2 series where the best bet for no coil whine and have the eco silent mode thing as pc mainly idles anyways... but stupid grill style and mediocure fan noise when its actually running, so is there a better one to go for?

The only issue I've had with mine is that if you have a big case, the cables are on the shorter side and can make cable management difficult.

It's a great PSU for the money though and very quiet. If changing the PSU doesn't stop the coil whine, then it's the card I'm afraid and there's not a lot you can do.

its not been to loud currently, but i do need to check voltages under load too, card doesnt seem to stick to speed when overclocked, but does when at stock speed, its been stable though so unsure if to splash out or not...

its a mid sized case with psu 1 inch above motherboard, so fairly compact :)

Just had a quick look at your current psu. It looks like it's an older Bronze-rated unit. No idea who the OEM is for that one. The PSU could be whining because it's being stressed too hard. You've got an OC'd i5 and a decent GFX card running on a bronze-rated 430W PSU.

I'd say get the new PSU and take it from there.
