First of all meguiars are a bunch a liers, 1) its not clay, and 2) it certainly ain't quick

BUT

It does do a damn good job. Decided against my better judgement thow caution to the wind, trust the beeb weather forcast and do a properly post winter car wash. After discovering that my outside tap has a stream aproximatly equiverlant to a small rodent with a prostate problem, lots of carrying of water ensued and a cleanish car came forth. A good going over with a shammy and its time for a bit of clay action.

Warmed it up in some hot water while enjoying a nice cuppa joe and lets begin. I have to say it works wonders, takes the annoying little bits off the paint work wonderfully. Granted it takes a while but the results are totally worth it giving amazing glass like paintwork and the temptation to get my bonnet resprayed to get rid of all the damn stone chips :(

then on with a nice (well - medioca) wax and polish from turtle wax, wait for ages till it actually drys in the near artic temperatures (and again wish i'd spend more money, this time on meguiars tech wax) and polish it up, bit of detailing on the black and silver bits, sort blacken the roof and its looking amazingly sweet.

4hrs worth of work, knackered, cold hands but one very clean car:

nb, the front bumper hasn't been done as the clear coat is knackered :( so its going in for a re-spray in the next week or so

All in all I would highly reccomend claying your car if you have the time and energy, although maybe do it on a slightly warmer day!

How do you use the quik clay is it hard, i wouldnt know where to start with it.

its really easy actually, basically get it malleable (either by working it with your hands or if its too cold warming it in some water) spray some lube (in this case quik detailer) on the car and rub the clay over the surface.

It basically picks up any rubish on the surface of the paint and holds it in the clay. Wipe off the detailer and the paint should be smooth and junk free. When the clay gets a reasonable amount of bits on it fold the dirt into the clay and continue.

Once your done you will need to wax the car as the clay will remove any you had on there in the first place :)

Nice job, looks brand new
cheers, not bad for a 6 year old car :D although to be fare it was always in pretty good condition & silver is the easyest colour to keep looking clean

Clay barred my CTR when I first got it, totally amazed at all the crap it pulled off which I couldn't even see was there.

Its a shame with a silver car you stand back and it looks no different, but you will have hours of fun stroking the paintwork :p :D

Bring on summer when its nice to be ouside spending the whole weekend polishing the car :D

That looks awesome Sam! Really nice car you have there :)

Now see what it looks like on the way home from the MM! :D

well considering i had to clean the headlights so i could see where i was going, not once, but twice last time i think keeping it clean up there, let alone back would be ambicious!
