Quick CoH question

Am i able to purchase a serial key online and download the game?

EDIT: OK, i figured it out. Got an account, purchased a serial key and paid for my first month.

Problem is i cant get the download link to work, it just keeps timing out in firefox and IE!

Any advice?

Advice? Team a lot, get in a Super Group (Guild) with people you meet that you will have fun with, have fun, don't take the game too seriously, play with each archetype and the different power set combinations before you settle on a main toon (loads of combinations to choose from), hunt in atlas park (starting zone after the tutorial) till lvl 5 then go to the hollows where you'll meet loadsa good people and probably a few idiots in between, try not to get into the numbers too much of powers i find that % increase here % decrease there thinking ruins the game. Oh and did i mention have fun? ;)

CoH has one of the best communities in the MMO world, never be afraid to ask anything.

Probably the best bit of advice i could give you really is to join the CoH forum. Many players don't know about it and miss out on a wealth of information unavailable otherwise.
 
I play too, have done since February.

At the moment, if i'm being heroic i've be on as Spunocron, and if i'm being villainous i'll be on as Fearfox or Gabrihell.

All on the Union server btw. :)

Gimme a shout if you need a hand.
 
Oh another thing... (no offense to Onions here Spun ;) ) create your toon on the Defiant server (Union and Defiant are the 2 english speaking ones). There seems to be a lot more players on defiant of late but that could be due to the troubles lately with the Union server. The whole server has been going a bit wonky for about a month.

But seriously, not really had any issues since last Septemberish. :)
 
About a month ago i created a toon on union (no space left on defiant :p) unfortunately about the same time the server started having serious issues crashing every couple of minutes, toons being locked out etc, the forum was awash with complaints. There was a fix put in place eventually but never really sorted the problem properly and in the past few days similar things have been happening. Have a look at the forum ;)
 
I've got a Tanker (Crevasse, Invincible, Ice Melee) and a Brute (Necromus, Dark Defence, Dark Melee) on Defiant, absolutely love the game although i dont have so much time to play it, my characters are lvl 14 and 10 so not got very far.

Personally i like being tankers, i get a lot of demand in groups (although not as much as healers) and can solo pretty well, with my villian i can take out multiple orange lvl enemies by myself, which i think is pretty good :D certainly couldn't do that with my hero.

But yeah come on defiant, have a laugh, smack a few baddies and join a supergroup. You meet some awesome people to group with but also a few fools unfortunately, theres always someone who wants to moan and shout about you pulling too many baddies when its actually very hard to do. When you get a good team its excellent.

I prefer being a villain...I got bored on CoH and stopped about lvl 30

my villains are proving far more amusing andI expect I will manage to get to lvl 40 with my MM

I may go back and have another bash with my scrapper though

the great thing is both games for the same subscription
