Hey guys

quick lappy cpu question....

How would a U7600 1.2ghz core 2 duo with a 2meg L2 cache compare to an older 1.8 - 2Ghz-ish Pentium M with a 2meg L2 cache?

Being a Core 2 cpu it might be on par with the higher clocked Pentium Ms or even better, damn close either way, would outperform it in multi threaded tasks being a dual core cpu and being a ULV cpu would use less power hence more battery life and prolly be quieter.

thats quite interesting actually, I knew with it bein a core 2 it would be half decent compared but if its pretty damn close thats even better

basically, been offered a laptop pretty cheap with a u7600 in and was wondering what kind of performance i'd get from it. I used to have a lenovo T45 with a pentium M that was around 2ghz and i found that plenty fast enough for what I'd want it for. If the u7600 is capable of matching that kind of performance then i'd be pretty happy
 
Are Meroms that much better clock for clock against Dothans? I don't think the u7600 will perform similarly.
