Abit out of the loop now I've stopped custom building and gone fully Apple *shock horror*

ASUS Maximus Formula SE motherboard- X38 chipset
Intel Quad Core Q8300 -> Q6600 better?

eVGA GeForce 9800 GT 512 -> A Hmmm from me.


My brother is trying to compile a computer upgrade, say a spec for CPU, Mobo, Mem and GPU for £300?

PSU is a 4 year old OCZ 580W which should be enough to take on what he can afford tbh.


Ideas?

Also avoid the STORM SILENT 900W PSU!!

Its the remnants of a old PC of mine.

OCZ 580W PSU

Ok it seems the budget for CPU/Mem/GPU is around £250...

What would be best trimmed from the above spec?
