ive just built my new pc, ive an antec 300 case a p5q motherboard with an akasa AK-965, im a little unsure whether ive got the cpu cooler facing the right direction, i have it placed with the fan pointing towards the top fan on the case.

is this right?

also it says in the antec 300 manual that it it an exhaust fan yet it doesn't feel like it is blowing out, should i switch it round?

Not sure about the AK-965, but usually, on CPU coolers with 1 fan, the fan blows INTO the heatsink. This means you should actually have the CPU cooler with the fan either to the right or below. The reason it probably doesn't feel like the top fan is blowing out, is because the CPU cooler fan is blowing air downwards into the heatsink, and the top fan is acting against it. You should turn the CPU cooler round, and see if it feels any different.

If the top fan is an extract fan then I see no reason to change, regards the rear fan there should be directional arrows or double check with a tissue.

ok i will swap the HS/fan around(i have some arctic silver here somewhere) see if it makes a difference, thanks for the replies
