Hi all,

Just a quick question about Core Voltage.........

Been playing with over clocking my q6600 on a Asus P5KC mobo and at the mo got it running at 3.2 ok.

I have been doing a bit of reading and googling etc but am unsure when i am read people core voltage which figures i should be looking at.

In my bios i have had to set it to 1.5375v to run at 3.2ghz (9*356) but when on CPU-Z when idle the Core Voltage reads 1.480 ish and when under load (using Prime95) 1.376 ish.

Temps have been 37 idle and max of 65 under load (this is core#0 others been a few deg lower?)

I want to try to get to 3.6 ghz if poss but will need to increase core voltage to do so (i'm guessing) and have seen that i should be going above 1.55 but is when under load as shown in CPU-Z or my bios setting??

The ram im running is 4gb (4x1) Geil Black dragon pc2-6400 800mhz at 4 4 4 12 on 2.0volt and my gfx card is a Gigabyte 8800GT all in a Antec 900 case with a Freezer pro 7 on W7 64 bit.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Thanks Pneumonic,

So if it doesnt have these option will i be able to run my core voltage in my bios higher as long as it not hitting 1.5v + when under load (figure in CPU-Z)??

just been reading about volt moding.....with a pencil!?!

Do i simply draw on the relivant bit with a pencil??

Also there was a mention of putting some tape on the 'bit' first.....so without wanting to sound to stupid would i put tape on the thing and then draw on the tape with the pencil??
