I'm going to be upgrading shortly to an Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-088-AS) and i would like a Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (3055) (GX-046-CO) to go with it but do i have to get a master or slave one  or maybe it doesn't matter. I'm only going to be running the one card only.

Thanks in advance :)

that motherboard doesnt even support crossfire.

Expensive mistake if he bought two X1900's!
If you want to go Crossfire you'll need a ATI 480 or 580 based motherboard (see sig) Also Abit and DFI versions

the OP states he is using only one card, but if he's using only one card on a board that doesnt even support crossfire then why is he asking about crossfire?

No idea. Crossfire and SLI are dual cards and require their respective ATI and Nvidia Nforce chipsets. Probably getting confused, or thinks can use SLI on ATI, or Crossfire on Nvidia. :)
