I hope this isn't too nOOby a question. And I have searched but couldn't find the answer.

I have just changed to c2d, an E4300 & DS3P board. Now I followed the DS3 guide, which was very straight forward and now have my rig at 3ghz. Seems happy. Ram is as per the guide "System Memory Multiplier to 2x".

My RAM is Team Elite 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 C5.

When I check CPUZ the ram is at 333Mhz. Is this because of the 2x mem multi?

Have I got it right... Really confused about all the sync / 1:1 stuff.

Can someone help please. My head is turning to mince.

Yip it's because of the x2 memory multiplyer. Set it to x2.5 to get your memory running at 800mhz.

Cheers for that Cob, the intel options just got me a bit confused after years of AMD tweaking. Seems obvious now you say it. Thank you.

Aye the multipliers do take a bit of getting used to when you have been used to the dividers of the AMD 939 systems. Being able to run the memory faster than the FSB is a little  for a while.
