i downloaded Diablo2 and LoD through the Battle.net downloader (I entered my really old cd keys into that, and it turned them into digital downloads for me
)
The multi res loader above works really well.
It allowed up to 1920x1080 (my highest res) to be played, the drawbacks are the screen selection size is limited to 800x600 (ie, you can only click inside that area when selecting dropped items and monseters etc.., so for this reason, I chose 1280x720.
So now I have widescreen and it's sharper than usual, with no big side effects

Try the graphics within Diablo as Direct Draw NOT Direct 3D I havnet tried this mod but read on a forum regarding better compatibility with Direct Draw
dammit i got to install this now, always keep d2 discs on my desk for such a time
see my post about the battle.net installer thing
they install really quickly, like under 20 seconds
site wouldnt work for me, hung when trying to register.
only took a couple mins from the discs anyway

I used it when I was last playing on bnet as it gave a huge fps increase and meant that I never got slowdown when those torch firestorms are triggered or at times such as killing Shenk where there's the huge meteor storm.

the trade off is that you can't play online on battle.net with this mod enabled

Damn was just about to install this after reading this thread. I was just hunting for the disks and realised I had Diablo 1 and not 2 - doh!

Good point. I think I'll have to advertise in Members Market later. I also have just found Diablo: Hellfire. At least a challenge now to get it working!
