So guys, Ive got 2 Femaile Quick disconects and 1 Male Quick disconect in my basket so I can make a drain line.

I assume I connect the male and female disconects together at the lowest point in my loop and that will let the loop continue flowing like normal.

When I want to break the loop I disconect the male from the female? and then connect the opposite to which ever side im draining from to allow it to flow again?

If im correct in this then I obviously need 3 QDC's im just not sure so I ask you guys! These things are expensive!

Yes.

If you have 2 females and 1 male, make sure the male is the one connected to the lowest point of the loop so that your drain line female can connect to that.

I have 4 Koolance QDC3s, 2 males and 2 female. I can drain from my lower 480 (lowest point) and my upper 480 also.

Upper is important as my longest length of tubing is down the back of the motherboard tray, short of flipping the case upside down it would not drain otherwise. It's a 900d and full...so VERY heavy :D

I tested it the other night as I had to drain, works well :)

Koolance QDC3s are sexy as hell and what I would recommend. The push ring systems is superior to twist in my opinion, the action of pulling the sprung ring removes the 2 QDCs from each other lighting fast. As a result literally zero water egress when disconnecting

You need 4. 2 female and 2 male. You need this so that coolant can go out through one and air go in through the other... If you don't then you will rearch a balanced pressure and no coolant will drain.

just use a 't' line.
massive over spec using QC's just for a drain line.

add a valve if you must or just use a stopper/plug (used a blue pen lid on my fill line - top right)

Benefit of a QDC is you can keep the t short inside the case and then plug the other half of the QDC with a longer tail in to aid with draining.

Ive gone with a T fitting and a ball valve :P. Its just before my bottom rad at the lowest point and actually looks quite nice as ive picked some nice parts hehe.

Il show you guys in a bit.

Btw nice QD Frosty I like!
