Hi all,

I currently have a full custom loop with 2x360 rads, CPU and GPU block. I am wanting to add quick disconnects to my GPU as this will make maintenance easier. I use soft tubing with a 16/10 diameter.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kool...-for-10mm-x-16mm-3-8in-x-5-8in-wc-137-ka.html

Is the above item all I need to buy to add quick disconnects to my loop or do I need anything additional to this?

you also need to purchase the male end of that set. The link you have is only one portion of the disconnect. The associated male part would be https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kool...oupling-g1-4-bspp-thread-black-wc-153-ka.html this one ends in a g 1/4 thread and is black but not in stock. Ocuk do have a male thread which ends in 16/10 but only in stock as silver https://www.overclockers.co.uk/koolance-qd3-no-spill-quick-release-male-to-16-10mm-wc-178-ka.html

solid disconnects though, use the exact pair for external rad in one of my builds, very secure.

Other thing to be aware of is the total length once connected, they're really long and take up quite abit of room so make sure you have space for them before ordering.

^^ yep that is good advise. Measuring the ones your looking at OP that I also use, come in at 7cm and are quiet large, so something to keep in mind. 16/10 tubing is also not the most flexible so will also impact things.

Thanks for the advice so far. Do you guys have any personal preferences or recommendations on good quick disconnects?

Been using Alphacool QD's for a few months now for an external rad build and they're good for the money although someone else got the same ones and were having some issues with it. I would stick with Koolance tbh if you can find them in stock.

Those Koolance ones you linked are what I use, exact same one which goes into 16/10 tubing, but externally. They feel very solid and no drips or issues when I decouple them.

OCUK seem to be a bit mish mash in one side of same colour is in stock while other side is not so may need to look around.

Yeah I've been having a look for a bit now and it seems easy enough to get the black female parts but the black male parts are no where to be found in stock.

I have used the older koolance vl3 for years
Never had any problems with them
Yes they're not small
And you do need to make sure to leave
A bit of play in your tubing for disconnecting them
And the three quarter inch ones actually will work
On 16/10 tubing too if that's all you can find
I just stick the end of the tube in a cup of boiling water
For about 10 seconds and they go on there fine
Never had one come off or leak even though meant for
Bigger tubing
