People always seem to end up selling QD's, they can often be restrictive and unsightly.

Just need them temporarily to easily test 3 rads

The gts is pants.

I know about the GTS
Actuall, might also compare the EX 240 with a GTS 360

I'll be running both EX rads in my rig hopefully

The ex rads do look great i'm just biased to the sr1. I have however demoted my sr1-420 to cpu duty after getting my mits on a pa140.3.

Only replacing my SR if the EX comes close as it is slimmer

I thought the SR was better than the PA?
Well, at really low RPM's it is

I think the sr1 wins at sub 600rpm, anything above that and the pa wins.

Is it easy to remove tubing off compression fittings? If it is you could just drain the loop a bit so you can remove the tubing off the rads and replace. Although I'm imagining an open bench setup

It is, but a QDC would be easier. And ATM, i pretty much do have an open test bench

I'd just put a towel down and undo the compression, have the next rad pre filled with water ready to attach and mop up any spillage

I'd rather spend £18 and save myself the hassle. Have a wanted thread up in 2 forums ATM

I was entertaining the idea of lending my 2 sets of VL4's in the name of research! But I think it is not going to happen as I will be testing my loop next week as well. Sorry.
But if you are looking to buy make sure the ID and OD both fit! OCUK does not list the OD of the fittings and most are 5/8 size, while others are 3/4, hard to tell.

I've got a 60ml syringe thingy (not the metal needle ones) and some 6mm tubing on it and I just put it in the res and remove the coolant

Quite handy if you haven't implemented a drainage system.

not too sure how that would work.

I'll have a decent draining system, especially considering i've got over 100 fittings

Well like if I gotta remove the CPU block I just drain my system with the syringe a little and the water level drops (on the CPU tubing), I remove tubing and put in new CPU block and barbs and fill back up, cycle the pump a bit to drain the air and I'm back in business.

Back when I had an Antec 1200 (heavy s.o.b just on it's own) I had to tilt it around to remove coolant

ah okay. Might be worth looking into for later...
