Quick Dual Channel Question (for Intel Mboards)

Hi guys,

Just a quick question, if the motherboard has 4 memory slots.

i.e.

Slot 1 (Black) Slot 2 (Blue) Slot 3 (Black) Slot 4 (Blue)

To install 2 x 256 mb memory (for example)

Would I install 1 x 256 in Slot 1 and 1 x 256 in Slot 3 (both being black)

To enable Dual Channel?

usually. check with your mobo, though. ie, my mobo's slot 1 and 2 are green, but in order to have dual channel, i have to have the ram in 1 green and one orange slot...

Yeh stick the RAM into the same coloured slots and dual channel should be enabled.
