Quick Electric Socket Question

Depends who you get in, some sparks charge a fixed rate of say £50 per socket but they will certify it, and it will be legal

*cough* black and red twin and earth *cough*

New socket? Nooooo.... it's been there for years. ;)

I'm not suggesting anyone breaks the Building Regs... if you can't do it, don't touch. And if you can't be good, be safe.

It's amazing what you find hidden away at the back of a cupboard when you really look though, isn't it?

Typically an easy job. All depends on the state of your installation, If you are not RCD protected then at the very least they will have to fit an RCD socket which ups the cost,

Not true, ONLY outside sockets, Kitchen and electric showers must be protected by an RCD.
A ring final or radial can simply be protected by the appropriate MCB.

Hasn't that changed with the 17th edition regs, so that now most domestic circuits now need RCD protection to comply?
