Is there a minimum distance from a socket to an internal corner? I'm moving a socket to make room for the boilerand I want to butt it tight into the internal corner. Im moving it about 10cm to the right and the cable comes in from that direction.

Thanks

Eh?

The socket's new position won't be in the way of the boiler, it'll be above and to the right of the boiler's footprint on the wall. However, the socket will be tight to an internal corner of the room. Just wanted to check that was ok.

Should be 350mm from the corner of a room but this only applies to new build wiring much like the socket height rules. Stick it in the corner and say it has always been there.

Haha! What, that old thing? Been there forever. I just had to redo some of the surrounding plaster that, umm.... fell off. :D

Once painted nobody will even know the plaster has been redone and re-skimming is very common anyway! The wiring regs are full of silly things like modern socket and switch heights which have nothing to do with safety it's really frustrating!
