Just a quick semi hypothetical situation for everyone ;)

Employee has a contract that states xyz is part of their duties.. The details of what xyz entails are held in a seperate company policy (ie the actual details of xyz).

Company changes the policy for xyz in a way that negatively employee, and does so with 1 working days notice.

Company says tough its in your contract you'll work to the policy so we can change that however we like.

Do people think that's right? Seems an easy way for a company to do what the hell they like with little to me recourse for the employees!

Everything online talks about changes to contracts, when technically the contract is staying the same but a policy it refers to has been changed...

so without much detail it seems to me that your job hasn't change in ontract - you are to perform xyz so there is no change in contract but how you complete that job has. Unless that change affect any of your contracted hours / location etc etc then I'm afraid they are probably right.

If the job isn't now what you signed up for then its a case of leaving and voting with your feet or at least threatening to
