If I have used 5amp in the last 24 hours (UK- 230v) , and it cost 19pence per kwh, how much would would the total cost be please?

I worked it out as £5.24, but it doesn't sound right cost it would mean is £162 a month for a small 2 Bed mid-Terrance which seems a bit much especially in the summer...

er do you mean you used 5 units?

which would be 5x 0.19 = 95p

Theres no way you used 27kw in 24 hours

BTW just because something has a 5amp plug doesn't mean its using 5 amps

Average daily consumption for a home in the UK is estimated at around 9kWh per day - or 3,300kWh per year if that helps you get an idea of your usage pattern.

I use about £30 a month to and thats with the pc on 12 hours a day.
I pay 13.5p kwh but have a standing charge of a few quid each week (prepay meter thingy)

Yeah, I thought is a bit strange too as my energy shows the energy consumption record as amp and I just re-read the manual, the 5amp is for last hour not last day... even more confused now lol

just take a note of how many khw the reading is on now and then take another reading in 24hours.

then x that number by 0.19p and find out why your tariff appears so expensive

Amp is the measurement for current.

I highly doubt you've only used 5amps in 24hrs! :eek::p
