quick excel query

need some advice

i have excel spreadsheet with multiple columns but need to sort one of them into numerical order

how do i do this without losing that columns relationship to the other rows of data

clear as mud

Suitably vague?

he's right bu don't select the whole column, just click anywhere in the column of data thay you want to sort by and use the sort icon on the toolbar.

I read it that he wanted the opposite of that.

1 A
4 D
2 B
3 C
5 E

Goes to.....

1 A
2 B
3 C
4 D
5 E

thus maintaining the relationship between the rows whilst ordering the first column numerically.
