Just about to order case fans for a new masterbox 5 build and came across the Arctic ones. But wasn't sure whether to use F14 or P14 or whether the pst, Co etc models make any difference. Also would recommend which is best for the intakes and out. Was planning 2x140 on front and 1x120 on the rear but read a post were someone said not to put any on the rear and to also remove the expansion bay covers.
Its been a while since my last build so it got a bit confusing, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The system has a ryzen 2600 with stock cooler. I have the option of a hyper 212 led or h100i (they came in a bundle I bought) but not sure I need them in relation the cash I could get from selling.

Unless you have very little restriction at the fan mount I'd go with the P series. The pressure will overcome fan grilles, mesh, dust filters etc. The PST fans have a daisy chain to plug one into the next I believe.

I agree that front to back airflow seems to work best in normal tower cases. More intake than exhaust is good, I personally have one 120mm exhaust as it's on a radiator. But can feel good airflow coming out of rear vents and perforated slot covers due to 3x120mm fans in front intake. You could always buy one extra, but not mount it until you've tested your setup.

For coolers, I think the H212 may well be quieter than stock at similar temperatures. And is fairly cheap to sell on so worth a try.

Arctic P12/P14 are pretty extremely hard to top when considering both performance and price.
And you can use those both in case and CPU coolers without worrying about bad performance.

You could get good money from selling that h100i and get £21 Arctic Freezer 34, which would be very good for six core Ryzens and also eight cores like 3700X.

Or if you want to update CPU when high end AM4 CPUs are in discount there are also high end heatpipe coolers for very good price and equal to whole lot more expensive waterpipe coolers.

the hyper 212 will be much beter than the stock cooler - as it will be less noisy (the stock cooler is OK for keeping the temp down but the stealth can get a little loud at high fan speed. Whatever cooler you put on I suggest that you alter your fan profile to being something like: 50% fan speed between 20 and 60ºC and then to ramp up to 100% fan speed between 60 to 65ºC. At 50% fan speed it will be less noisy for either the stock cooler, hyper 212, or the AIO, or the case fans).

he dosnt need to buy a artic freezer as he already has a hyper 212 (which is the same).

use the hyper212 and sell the H100i as you will get more money for the H100i and the hyper212 will keep your cpu cool enough whilst being quiet.

What others have said about 212. While not a great cooler it does a decent job costing you nothing while selling H100 will make you more money.

About 5 yrs ago I bought an overclocked AMD FX8350 bundle from OCUK. All 8 cores were overclocked from 3.5 to 4.42 ghz (a pretty large OC). At the time people were saying that the FX cpu's were very heat inefficient and kicked out much heat. Hence if you put a large OC on that you expect much more heat. My bundle was to came with a hyper 212 (usual single fan). It does the job fine and doesn't need to run at a high fan speed - and hence is quiet. As previously with my phenom that lasted 9 yrs (until the mobo or psu started to fail) I find that my cpu's actually get faster with age as the software utilises more cores! I am still waiting for most of my games to utilise all 8 cores of my FX.
