I've just got a replacement pair of headphones, having returned my previous pair due to distortion in the right ear cup, and I've just noticed that there's a similar distortion with the new pair. I'm unsure though, whether it's my headphones or just the song. Could someone please fire up Sptify and listen to the start of Roads by Portishead and tell me if there is any distortion in the right side of your headphones at around 0:47 seconds into the song?.

Thanks to everyone who checked it out for me. I think I've either got another pair of faulty cans or I'm just expecting too much from them... but the problems appear at such low volumes! They're ATH AD700's by the way.

I've just tested them using the song that made me believe there was a fault with my first pair and I'm getting the same problem with my replacement pair, only in both sides this time.

PC but I use my TV as my monitor and plug the headphones into the TV. I've tried plugging my headphones into my PC's input and I still get distortion but, like the TV, it's at such low volume levels that it makes me wonder whether the headphones are faulty... is there anything else that could be causing the problem other than the headphones? Could it be what I'm listening in combination with the limitations of my AD700's?
