May be old news just been messing with a tri-fire setup and came across this

Gigabyte mother boards:- hd 5970 and HD5870, in the Bios in advanced in the Init Display setting First :- if Pci chosen no boot Bios if PCIe 16 x1 first or which ever slot youre card is in PCI 16 x2 etc choose this and bios boots.
