Quick gfx card upgrade question

If I upgrade from one Nvidia card to another, can I just leave the driver, or do I need to uninstall the driver out and start again fresh?

Incidentally, the upgrade is from a 9600GT 1GB to a GTS250 512MB. Will there be a noticable improvement? Will the drop in memory be apparent??

You don't really have to (depending on OS) but It is best to.

As for the RAM, yes probably depends what resolution you are playing on and the age of the games and quality settings you expect textures/AA etc.

EDIT: Sorry I think it's worth saying also that I don't actually think that is an upgrade at all. the 250 could actually be slower than your 9600gt. I'm pretty sure it actually is.

EDIT2: Wait, no, sorry, it is faster just had a look :P It's not that big of an upgrade though, again a win for older games but that's about it.

Thanks :)

Wasn't an intentional upgrade. Bought a second hand PC and the 9600GT came with it. The GTS250 I already had lying about so it's going in, as it does look to be a little better.
