Hey everyone, my gfx card requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin connector, am I ok to run one cable from the psu - gfx card for the 8 pin and a separate one for the 6 pin? I want my wiring to be clean and don't like the cables that have an 8 pin which then splits off into a 6 pin Aswell. Thanks - Adam

The psu kicks out the voltage pretty much no matter what you tap a cable off/into
I've done several 'splits' as you call it over the years, not had no problem
Even ran power from hdd's to gpu's never had a problem lol

depending on your PSU dont get the PCIE 8 pin (6+2) confused with a 8 pin for the CPU. Probably best to say what PSU it is (Corsair RM750 ?)
Reason I wanted to check is that particular PSU already has 6+2 pin PCIE so just a bit puzzled about your question as the spec/manual answers your question.

Yeah its the RM750, i just didnt want to have to use the 6+2 it comes with as it has another 6 pin coming off it. What ive done is removed the extra 6 pin that comes of it and running that as a separate cable to the GPU - Adam
