Quick guide to make a DOS bootable USB drive on Win 7

Bloody firmware upgrades... I need to turn a USB drive into bootable DOS. I can make it bootable, but not the MS DOS part. :/

All the guides I've seen are an obfuscated mess. Surely there is a easy option in Win 7 that would allow you to do that? It's getting beyond ridiculous...
