Quick guitar hero question?

I'm about to buy Guitar Hero 6 along with the warriors of rock controller for my WII. Can I use this controller on all the guitar hero games? I know it's obvious but I want to be 100% sure

I've tried google and i'm getting mixed results..had a few results saying I have to have the actual guitar that goes with each guitar hero game

As far as I am aware it will work with any GH game, you just wont be able to use the touch bar on World Tour. It wont however work with the Rock Band games on the Wii.
