temps are ok if its no a stock cooler, occt is an extreme test, normal operation id say it hits hi 60's or low 70's. If it over heats it will throttle it down and lag the system, but wont crash.

but still, never had OCCT over heat on stock settings

is there anything i can disable that helps with temps that isnt needed?

just run 3dmark 11 and temps got to 67 max, which is the max for that cpu

but...............no BSODs so that problem seems to of gone

ok, it would appear 67°C isnt its max temp, the figures and info i was given were miss leading

right, will get him to order that then. memtest did 2 cycles without error, prime95 ran ok at 97 degs for a good 40mins or so. no BSOD, no lockups so given it back for him to play with.

he took it home, connected everything up, turned it on. as soon as it loaded into windows BSOD 0x0000001A

ok, could the PSU be the weak link here?

EDIT : oh he is now getting 0x00000019 and 0x000000fc BSODs
