quick heatsink installation question

Hi, I'm trying to install the heatsink onto my E6850 which is in a Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R mobo.

The problem is that I am supposed to push down on the caps like in this Youtube vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6NbPMQgwPM

I push down but it just isn't as easy as it looks on the video and I don't want to break the mobo or damage the cpu with too much force. I think its in place and the caps are down as far as they seem to go but the silver part near the base of the heatsink seems to lift away from the mobo slightly. Is this normal? Or should it be tight and secure?

I've got a pic of the parts that seems to lift.

Ok. Thank you for your reply. I ended up having to lift the board up off the desk a little and place my hand under the board for extra push and they clicked in. But jeez they are tough to get in! Surly Intel could have come up with a better heatsink solution than that.

Thanks again for your help. :)
