Quick Help Needed - Ubuntu

Hello,

Ive just installed Ubuntu, and i created my username/password on install as root and my password, i get to login and it says.

"The system administrator is not allowed to login from this screen"

Ive tried my name i set up but nothing.

This is really weird - Plus i am a newb at linux! HAR!

Thanks, The problem i think i had was i set my USERNAME as root. I went into the recovery and added a user and then added that username to the admin group with

addgroup username admin
