Quick help please guys....

Hi all,

Just had the girlfriend on the phone saying here car is overheating a trying to stall and what not.

Now its got me thinking as it s 307 and i no these have electrical problems.

What she said was the it was overheating and when she changed gear it felt like it was going to stall and the oil light flashed on then off. Now I know there is oil in it as i checked it last week.

HAs anyone else experienced this at all?

Overheating and trying to stall sounds like an overheated engine and some kind of head gasket failure.. An overheating car = lots of ££ if your gf is continuing to drive it!

Classic sounds of Head Gasket - ours went 2 weeks ago

Tell her to put her fans on full warm, if she doesnt get a warm
heat sounds like lack of water / head gasket.

If the oil light turns on it's more "turn off now" than "polite warning". Hopefully she didn't drive too far with it.

Yea I told her to stop as soon as possible so hopefully :rolleyes:

It was trying to stall when changing gear but fine when just driving in gear and the oil light was just on for a few seconds while changing gear, again it wasnt on while just driving along in gear.

I hope its not the headgasket, its got a full service and a cambelt due in 900 miles
