quick help please

ok building my new rig atm but cant fit my sound card in the first slot due to the cooling rad fouling the slot

and if i put it in the 2nd pci slot my gfx card wont fit in the first pci-e slot,

if i put my gfx in the second pci-e slot will this matter at all? or will it still run at full pci-e x 16? if i can then i will be able to put the sound card in the second pci slot fine


mobo is a ROG Asus maximus 3 formula

Yes the first 2 slots (red ones) are both X16.
